Eight-year-old Sreya Rai from Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, was once a cheerful and playful child who loved going to school and spending time with her friends. But her life took a heartbreaking turn a few months ago when she suddenly started experiencing severe giddiness, loss of consciousness, and weakness in her left hand and leg.
After multiple visits and tests, her family received the devastating diagnosis โ Midline Brainstem Glioma, a rare and life-threatening brain tumor. Sreya is currently undergoing treatment at AIIMS Hospital, New Delhi, where doctors have started radiation therapy and supportive medications.
Despite her young age, Sreya has shown immense courage through painful procedures, hospital visits, and continuous medication. Her parents, however, are struggling to afford the ongoing treatment, which includes expensive medicines, lab tests, and regular follow-ups. Her father, a small farmer, has already exhausted all his savings and borrowed money just to keep the treatment going.
The doctors have advised long-term treatment and regular therapy sessions to help Sreya recover and regain her strength. But the cost is overwhelming โ and without timely help, her recovery may be at risk.
