Kartik, a 6-year-old boy from a small village in Palwal, Haryana, has been fighting a serious blood disorder for most of his childhood. His family first came to know about his illness when he was just 2 years old. Since then, his parents have been doing everything they could to keep his treatment going, despite being a small farmer family with limited income.
Kartik is one of three siblings, with two younger sisters. His father, Mahavir Singh, is a farmer, and the family belongs to a small village where managing everyday expenses itself is difficult. Yet, for years, his parents kept arranging his treatment somehow, holding on to the hope that one day their son could receive the treatment he truly needed.
When Kartik's doctors advised the need for a the family faced another painful struggle. They searched within the family, but unfortunately, no suitable match was found. After a long wait, they finally found a donor — bringing hope that Kartik could move forward with his treatment.
But now, another obstacle stands in their way: the cost of treatment. Kartik is undergoing treatment under the Medical Oncology & Haematology department at Sarvodaya Hospital, Faridabad, for Hereditary Hemolytic Anemia, with an estimated treatment cost of ₹30,21,950.
For a farmer's family, an amount this large is simply beyond their reach. They have found the donor they were desperately waiting for; now they need support to make sure Kartik does not lose this chance because of money.
