Two Tiny Lives, One Long Fight — Help Pushpa’s Premature Twins Come Home

Born Too Soon, Fighting Together — Help Pushpa’s Tiny Twins

For Pushpa and her family, the arrival of their twins should have been one of the happiest moments of their lives. Instead, within hours of their birth, they found themselves facing a situation no parent is ever prepared for.

Born at just 29 weeks and 5 days, both babies came into this world far too early. Their tiny bodies were not yet ready to survive on their own, and they had to be admitted to the NICU for specialized care.

Baby 1, weighing around 1.4 kg, developed Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS) soon after birth and required respiratory support. The baby is also being monitored for Apnea of Prematurity and a Grade 2 intraventricular haemorrhage (IVH) on the right side.

His twin brother, Baby 2, was even smaller, weighing around 1.26 kg. He too developed RDS and Apnea of Prematurity and required respiratory support and close monitoring. He has also been diagnosed with bilateral Grade 1 IVH.

For these two little babies, even something as simple as breathing has required medical support and constant observation. Their doctors have advised that, because of their extreme prematurity, the babies may need to remain under NICU care for another 3–4 weeks while they gradually grow stronger.

🏥 Two Babies, Two Medical Bills

The twins are currently receiving care under the Neonatology/NICU team at Madhukar Rainbow Children’s Hospital, New Delhi. Their treatment requires continuous monitoring, respiratory support, medicines, nutritional support and round-the-clock neonatal care. The financial burden on the family has now become overwhelming.

The hospital estimates approximately ₹8.72 lakh for Baby 1 and ₹9.38 lakh for Baby 2, making the combined estimated cost around ₹18.10 lakh. For a family already trying to cope with the emotional stress of having two premature babies in the NICU, arranging such a large amount for their continued treatment is an enormous challenge.

These babies have only just begun their lives. They do not need anything extraordinary — they simply need the medical care and time required for their tiny bodies to become strong enough to go home.

Pushpa and her family are doing everything they can to keep their babies fighting. Now, they need our support.

Your contribution can help these two tiny fighters continue their NICU treatment, grow stronger and one day return home safely to their family.
