Juliyani Toppo, a 25-year-old young woman from Khakata Basty, Angrabhasa, Jalpaiguri, West Bengal, is currently battling a painful and life-threatening medical condition. She belongs to a Scheduled Tribe (ST) community, as verified by her caste certificate issued by the Office of the Sub-Divisional Officer, Mal Sub-Division, District Jalpaiguri, Government of West Bengal.
Born on 12th February 2001, Juliyani comes from a financially struggling family. Her father is a farmer, and her mother is a housewife. Due to their weak financial condition, Juliyani was working in a small hotel to support her family and manage daily expenses.
However, her life took a difficult turn when she suddenly started experiencing severe and recurring abdominal pain. As the pain worsened over time, she underwent medical tests and diagnosis. Doctors confirmed that she is suffering from appendicitis, a serious condition where the appendix becomes inflamed.
Doctors have strictly warned that if treatment is delayed, the appendix may rupture, leading to severe infection and life-threatening complications.
To prevent this, doctors have advised urgent laparoscopic appendectomy (appendix removal surgery). The estimated cost of the surgery and treatment is approximately ₹37,270, which may further increase depending on her condition and recovery.
Unfortunately, Juliyani and her family are in no position to afford this treatment. With her father’s limited income as a farmer and no financial backup, arranging this amount is extremely difficult. Due to her illness, Juliyani has also stopped working, which has made the situation even worse.
Each passing day is extremely painful for her, and delaying the surgery can put her life at serious risk.
With no other option left, Juliyani and her family have approached Jan Sanjeevni Trust for help and support.
