For Pushpa and her family, the arrival of their twins should have been a moment filled with happiness. Instead, their joy quickly turned into worry when both babies were born far too early, at just 29 weeks and 5 days.
Their tiny bodies were not ready to survive on their own. Baby 1 weighed around 1.4 kg, while Baby 2 weighed only around 1.26 kg. Both babies developed Respiratory Distress Syndrome and Apnea of Prematurity and needed respiratory support and round-the-clock NICU care. They were also being monitored for intraventricular haemorrhage (IVH).
Every day brought new worries for their parents. They could only stand beside the NICU and hope that their two little babies would become strong enough to come home.
The twins needed weeks of specialized neonatal care, but the growing hospital expenses were becoming impossible for the family to manage.
With nowhere else to turn, Pushpa’s family reached out to Jan Sanjeevni Trust. With the support of compassionate donors, the twins were able to continue receiving the NICU care, medicines, nutritional support, respiratory support, and close medical monitoring they desperately needed.
Slowly, their fragile little bodies began to respond to the treatment. Day by day, they grew stronger and moved closer to the moment their parents had been waiting for—the day they could finally take both babies home.
