16-year-old Deepanshu, from Rewari, Haryana, was diagnosed with a serious congenital heart condition during a routine medical examination. A heart murmur detected during a school health survey led to further investigations by pediatric cardiologists.
Detailed medical evaluation and echocardiography revealed that Deepanshu is suffering from Moderate Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA), causing left ventricular volume overload. His echo reports show a moderate-sized PDA (5.4 mm) with significant left-to-right shunting, along with dilatation of the left atrium and left ventricle. If left untreated, this condition can lead to worsening heart function and long-term complications.
Although Deepanshu currently appears stable, he experiences breathlessness on exertion and palpitations (Class II), indicating that the condition is already affecting his daily life. Doctors have strongly advised elective PDA device closure at the earliest to prevent further damage to his heart and ensure normal growth and development.
Deepanshu’s father works as a daily wage labourer, and the family’s income is just enough to meet basic survival needs. The cost of cardiac treatment, hospital admission, and procedure expenses is far beyond the family’s financial capacity.
Deepanshu urgently needs financial support to undergo the recommended life-saving procedure. With timely treatment, he has a very good chance of leading a healthy and active life.
