In today’s fast paced world, reading & writing isn’t just a skills- it’s a basic human rights and the foundation for a better future.
Unfortunately, for many adults from Delhi’s underprivileged communities, literacy is a challenge that silently limits their prospects.
Lacking the ability to read a bus board, understand a prescription or fill out a job application form, they face hurdles at every step. Literacy often prevents people from taking advantage of government schemes designed for their welfare and improving their quality of life.
Most Importantly, it impoverished them of the confidence to fully participate in society. The harsh truth is that when there is no education . poverty persists and dreams go unfilled. But at our NGO, we believe it’s never too late to learn and with the right support, any adult can regain educational opportunities.
According to UNESCO, India has of the largest illiterate adult populations in the word, and the capital Delhi is no exception. Many of those who migrate here from rural areas in search of employment are trapped in low- paying, unstable jobs without literacy skills.
Breaking the cycle requires more than just classes – it requires sensitive education, practical skills, and constant encouragement.
