Three-year-old Hamdan Husain was once a bright, cheerful little boy, full of laughter, energy, and curiosity. His days were spent playing, exploring the world around him, and enjoying the warmth of his family. But this happy routine came to a sudden halt when Hamdan began falling sick frequently and growing unusually weak. What followed were repeated hospital visits and growing concern for his health.
After detailed medical investigations, Hamdan was diagnosed with High-Risk B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (Blood Cancer)—one of the most aggressive and life-threatening cancers in young children. The diagnosis shattered his family, as their little child was suddenly fighting for his life.
Hamdan was admitted to the Pediatric Hematology & Oncology Department at AIIMS Hospital, New Delhi, where doctors immediately began intensive treatment. He had to undergo multiple cycles of chemotherapy, frequent blood tests, and prolonged hospital stays. For such a young child, the treatment was extremely painful and exhausting.
During the course of treatment, Hamdan faced several serious complications. He suffered from chemotherapy-induced pancreatitis, repeated episodes of severe infections (febrile neutropenia), and required multiple hospital admissions. His fragile body became dependent on regular blood and platelet transfusions to survive. Meanwhile, the cost of treatment—ranging between ₹2,50,000 to ₹3,00,000—placed an unbearable financial burden on his family.
Despite immense physical pain and emotional hardship, Hamdan continues to fight with remarkable courage. With uninterrupted medical care and timely support, his condition has stabilized, and doctors remain hopeful about his recovery. Each completed cycle of treatment brings him closer to remission and a life beyond hospital walls.
Today, Hamdan dreams of a childhood free from needles and pain—of playing, laughing, and growing up like any other child. With continued support, he can complete his treatment and reclaim the happy, healthy childhood he deserves.
